What's Going to the Home Grown Farm Market! Saturday, 9 am - 1 pm

Greetings customers, new and old!

Last week was our first week at our late fall/winter location, the Home Grown Farmers Market.  We enjoyed seeing our regular customers and a lot of new faces too.  Thank you for visiting us.  For this week we'll be bringing:

- Cabbage( New):  Personal-sized, round, sweet mini-heads

- Baby Fennel (New): crisp, flavorful with a sweet anise flavor; great raw or cooked

- Tuscan Kale:  Yes, it's that time of year again! Kale time! See our Website for recipes.

- Carrots: sweet, crisp, tender, fresh...what more can we say?

- Lettuce:  Bibb, Red, and Romaine!

- Scallions: fresh, green, crisp, with a mild onion flavor. 

- Chinese Mustard Greens: Related to kale, cabbage, and collard greens, they are the tasty, peppery leafy greens of the mustard plant and are used frequently in Chinese, Japanese, Indian  and redneck cooking.

- Bok Choy:  bright green member of the cabbage family brings flavor, vitamins, and a delightful crunch to any recipe.

- Beets, Golden

- Broccoli Raab (a.k.a, Rapini): a delicious, slightly bitter green that is a favorite in Italian cuisine.

- Baby Ginger:  More of our fresh, sweet, aromatic ginger is coming to market.

- Sorrel:  the surprisingly tart, citrus-like green; perfect in salads and as a bed of greens to accompany grilled salmon

-  Sweet Potatoes:  Wonderful roasted, baked, fried...easy and delicious anytime!

- Oranos Sweet Peppers:  bright orange, crunchy and sweet...great raw or cooked

- Jimmy Nardello Sweet Italian Peppers: don't let the bright red color fool you...they are sweet! When sauteed or roasted, their sweetness intensifies.

- Jalapeno Peppers: essential to any salsa or fall chili.

- Onions:

- Yellow onions:  great basic onion, used cooked in all dishes.
- Cippolini Italian: wonderful flavor, slightly sweet, great carmelized

- Garlic:  "hard-neck" garlic, the flavor favored by chefs
